(A not very graceful me)

This is an old tag that people use to introduce themselves using a bunch of questions. It’s a bit late for the introductions, but I’m going to introduce myself anyway.

Here goes!

1. Are you named after anyone?  Unfortunately not, I wish I could say I was, after a beautiful and inspirational ancestor, but no, just Emily.   (Although my middle name ‘Jay’ is the same as my aunties, my mum’s sister, and her’s was after the Jay bird, so perhaps a bird).

2. When was the last time you cried? Last night chopping onions, or perhaps a couple of weeks ago watching the Notebook for the squillienth time.

3. Do you have kids? Not yet.

4. If you were another person, would you be a friend of yourself? Hmmm, perhaps, but I’m quite socially awkward so would be hard to make friends with me, I also am hard to get in contact with.

5. Do you use sarcasm a lot? Yes because I’m really, really funny.

6. Will you ever bungee-jump? Probably not. I’m not scared, I just don’t have a burning desire to do so, I can think of a million thing’s I’d prefer to spend money on. If it was to be a life risking thing then I think a parachute jump/skydive would be more fulfilling… I want to actually see things, not just yo-yo mid air and get whiplash.

7. What’s your favorite cereal? Muesli things or Special K or Cinnamon Grahams, yum.

8. What’s the first thing you notice about people? Blah blah eyes, beautiful smile, I’m not going to lie it’s probably not those things. Probably somebody’s clothes, because that’s the kind of society we live in. I wouldn’t judge though, I just think that’s the first thing I notice. If it’s looking at a man, possibly back, shoulders, arms or hands they are manly. Then a nice smile, dodgy teeth are a bit of a turn-off, then nicely done facial hair. For a female (potential friend, nothing more!) then a kind of accepting look, not that judgemental glare that some women have.

9. What is your eye colour? Blue.

10. Scary movie or happy endings? With other people – scary (but not your stereotypical horror, a good unexpected twist and a little controversy to challenge boundaries). Home alone – a happy ending, you can’t beat a good smooch and a storyline that makes you envious.

11. Favorite smells? Miss Dior, mum’s cooking, British Summer’s (cut grass, countryside), home (lillies, incense, food), new books and tennis balls, damp rain on the grass (not pavement!), musty old possessions, baby’s with talcum powder on, burning wood and Laura Ashley.

12. Summer or winter? Well Spring, but that’s just awkward. Summer, I love British Summer in the countryside, our Winter’s are just diabolical, however our Summer’s have pretty much been Winter’s lately.

13. Computer or television? Computer. Computer= Computer+TV,  Tv=TV.

14. What’s the furthest you’ve ever been from home? Peru or New York or Barbados, please don’t make me do Geography. But it will be New Zealand next year!  But the time I feel furthest from home is late night in the city centre, it’s like another world full of seriously strange people.

15. Do you have any special talents? I think I’m pretty special the way I can fold my tongue backwards, that’s probably the only talent I have.

16. Where were you born? England, I’m not saying where about’s because it is an embarrassment to mankind.

17. What are your hobbies? Reading, writing, travelling, blogging, photography, sewing, craft things, cooking, walking, museum’s and things and daydreaming about my perfect life.

18. Do you have any pets? I don’t feel it’s fair to ask this question when I’ve been begging my mom to let me buy myself a puppy for ages. I wish I had my own house

:-(
I used to have rabbit’s, then my mom decided we were too old for pet’s, great.

19. Favorite movie? Aaaaaaa I don’t know, I don’t really have a favorite. A favorite would probably be a Disney one; Pocahontas, Hunchback of Notre Dame, Shrek or something like that, because I could watch them a million times. But film film, one’s I’ve enjoyed are The Shawshank Redemption, Inglorious Basterds, Forrest Gump, The Skin I Live In, Alice in Wonderland (the 1999 Robbie Coltrane, Whoopie Goldberg, Ben Kingsley one, it was waay better), Rear Window, Breakfast at Tiffany’s, Rocky Horror Picture Show, The Railway Children, Stepbrother’s…. I could go on forever. Why do I never answer anything straight-forwardly?

20. Do you have any siblings? Yes, one younger brother who’s 15, Jamie, Jam.

21. What do you want to be when you grow up? A teacher. Sorry to be boring, I love kids, I love the idea of teaching and I love the idea of lesson planning. So yep.
