Today we cover the poor, forgotten Emmy categories. Don’t get too excited. I’m not covering the mini-series again.
No, today we pay our respects to the under appreciated statuettes, the Creative Arts Emmy Awards.
These awards are so important they get their own seperate ceremony (and no one wants to sit through a 10 hour awards show). That and they’re usually when the viewing public takes their restroom breaks. Which is a shame.
This is where you find categories such as:
- Outstanding Casting
- Outstanding Makeup for a Single-Camera Series (Non-Prosthetic)
- Outstanding Prosthetic Makeup for a Series, Mini-Series, Movie or Special
- Outstanding Art Direction for a Multi-Camera Series
- Outstanding Picture Editing
Okay, so they get a bit wordy, but that just shows you how important they are.
Before you completely write off these awards, you should consider a few more categories that are included.
Cartoon Network addicts, this is where you find Outstanding Animated Program, Outstanding Individual Achievment in Animation, and Outstanding Short-Format Animated Program.
And at least a few more of us will agree that these categories deserve some recognition.
