We’re sure most of you are aware that Shepard Fairey is in town at the moment, with numerous pieces popping up on the street and a double-header exhibition. I headed to Brick Lane earlier today to check out the two shows, and if you’re a fan of the artist and street art/graffiti or just a graphic design head, it’s well worth a visit.

In the gallery, Shep has put together a series of artworks based around 12″ record sleeves with a slew of graphics which look technically crisp and appealing to the eye. On the right side of the room, there’s a record rack containing a subset of his record collection which you can pick up and play.

Over the road, in the pop up space, the bigger exhibition covers a lot of his historial pieces along with new works on canvas, paper, retired stencils collages, rubylith cuts aswell as serigraphs on wood, metal and paper. The serigraphs on metal are particularly impressive.
