I can't wait for the film to be ready on Game rewind, but in the meantime, the numbers don't lie: These past 2 games, we have turned
the ball over to Ben and we're 0-2 because of it. In his selfishness everyone is talking the blame for the losses except him and he's doing the
most to create them. His INTs have come at the worse time and the red zone fumble that cost us momentum and a possible score in game 1, while blamed publicly on Redman, was actually Ben's fault because he handed the ball off too high. The official stats says this is so.
Now they're suggesting that we have not let Ben loose when we have thrown the ball 70 times and ran it 41. that's a 6 to 4 ratio. How much more do they suggest we give him the ball? How is THIS not another example of the insanity of doing even more of the same thing and expecting different results?
I'd be glad to debate this with anyone in the world as in the coming days, after Monday's game is made available, I will show
each sack and show where Ben elected to ignore open receivers on the short route with plenty of time, held the ball and was sacked. Last night both his sacks were because he ignored the check down and held the ball. The TV talking heads and Big Ben purists are doing their usual, saying anything to promote controversy or blindly supporting Ben, ignoring the facts of the film to the detriment of the Steelers.
Ben pouted and bristled last season at conforming to Haley's offense despite his rising stats, all so he could be the mad bomber. Our coaches have given him the green light and he's failed and worst yet, allow the blame to go on everyone except himself.
He's totally self-absorbed in making the big play that he either throws INTs or takes the big sack to risk it and Tomlin is letting it happen. What's worse is on TV I just heard the great Bettis get in on this same mess and say we need to just turn the ball over to Ben in a no huddle offense all game long and win or lose with him doing that. Well we've been losing and Ben has
thrown the ball at a rate of 63% of the plays... do we want to go for 100% pass? We didn't throw the ball that much when Bruce Arians was here. If this continues, it won't be until Tomlin is fired and Ben is retired before the Steelers become the Steelers again... our team has been hijacked people, and we can't do a **** thing about it.
