Friday’s Fab Find: CocoLuxe Organic Oil

By Bridgetteraes @BridgetteRaes

Friday’s Fab Find: CocoLuxe Organic OilI have a friend Daniela who lives in Berlin. She travels quite a bit and recently bemoaned that she couldn't bring any coconut oil with her as it comes in glass jars. She also doesn't understand why it's not sold in 50 gallon drums as she goes through it pretty quickly.

As a child I was allergic to coconut. I think. My friend Laura wisely pointed out my reaction may have been to pesticides that have since been outlawed. When I heard about CocoLuxe Organic Oil in a tube I was intrigued. I've heard you can use as a makeup remover, face wash, night cream and Daniela uses it as toothpaste!

Night cream? Put oil ON my face? That was in stark contradiction to everything the beauty industry has been telling me since I was 13. Oil is the enemy! I was fully prepared to break out in sea of pimples. I was not looking forward to buying Clearasil at my age.

I applied a small amount. The stuff smells so amazing. Then I realized after only a few minutes was my skin didn't feel oily. It absorbed so quickly. My skin felt so soft the next day. And no zits! Turns out coconut oil actually prevents acne due to its antimicrobial properties.

There are so many uses include oil pulling which is swishing coconut oil in your mouth for 15 - 20 minutes every morning. Apparently it can dramatically increase dental health by stabilizing the ph levels in your mouth and neutralizing bacteria that cause tooth decay. Just be careful and do not spit the oil into your sink! It will clog your pipes. Daniela has been using coconut oil as toothpaste for years and her dentist has noticed the improvement.

Those are just a few ways to use coconut oil. Hair conditioner, diaper rash cream, shaving cream, breath freshener and of course, you can use it for cooking! Now you can try coconut oil too. Leave a comment below saying why you want to try CocoLuxe Organic oil in a tube and you may win a tube.
