Today's post is unique, as it is my first time writing about "GIVING BACK "
Both husband and I have always believed in giving back to the community. We have been involved with a few charitable organizations, both local and International, for a few years now. There are both personal and sentimental reasons for us to be involved in giving back. My husband lost his mother and niece, both to cancer a few years ago and they both were organ donors. Giving life to someone is the most human thing one could do and being an organ donor.....I have no words for this act of humanity.
April is National Donate Life month and I have partnered with Be a Donor to spread word about their mission.  Their mission is to recover organs and tissues by preserving every donation option, excelling in recovery and placement, and providing care for donors and their families

Today is #BlueAndGreenDay2017 and during this day, people are encouraged to wear blue and green, hold events and fundraisers, and partner with local restaurants, malls, media, and community organizations in an effort to promote the success of organ, eye and tissue transplantation and the extreme need for registered donors.I had to wear Blue and Green to show my support to this organization....and you should too!

It is a myth, that a sick person cannot be an organ donor but the fact is that anyone, regardless of age or medical history, can sign up to be a donor- The transplant team will determine at an individual's time of death whether donation is possible. There are very few conditions that would prevent a person from becoming a donor—such as HIV infection, active cancer, or a systemic infection. You should still consider registering. Even with an illness, you may be able to donate your organs or tissues. I have done my part and hope you will encourage yourself and your dear ones to do so too.
