FRESH Black Tea Instant Perfecting Mask – Photos, Details and Thoughts

By Kasthuri

Hello!

I’ve been popping into Sephora one time too many this Holiday 2014 and one of the things I picked up was the Fresh Mask Bar, among others. The first thing I tried from this Holiday coffret was the Black Tea Instant Perfecting Mask (along with the Soy Face cleanser and a lip serum). LOVE at 1st (2nd, 3rd, x…y…z…) swipe.

Black Tea Instant Perfecting Mask with advanced antioxidants is a hydrating treatment that immediately reveals softer, firmer, healthier-looking skin. The innovative formula’s velvety whipped texture has an immediate cooling effect to refresh the skin and the senses.

Before I go on about the mask, just a little skin update – admittedly, my skin is behaving rather well on the spotty front but I’m no longer quite the oily girl i used to be. Either years of using anti-sebum products or just hormonal changes (i’m 34 yrs old so I’ve been told this could be the norm) has changed my skin completely. It’s now rather dry and I tend to flake a little on my nose often. As such, I now look towards using more hydrating and replenishing products and have introduced more masks and packs into my skincare regime (click HERE for 2 other skin serums that have helped regulate my skin).

I received the gift with purchase kit that contains a deluxe-sized Black Tea Instant Perfecting Mask too – I’m not sure if the promotion is still ongoing but it was a very good and worthwhile GWP so check out the Fresh counters in Sephora. Let’s take a closer look at the mask itself. Here is the ingredients list:

Fresh’s instructions are to apply the mask to clean skin for about 10 minutes and then rinse off. I forgot and left mine on for about 15 minutes and despite that, it neither got dry or felt uncomfortable on skin.

The texture is wonderful – whipped and velvety – truly, this has that velvet, velour look about it and reminds me of whipped potato. The mask isn’t thick or gloopy or gel like – in fact, you don’t really see much of it on the skin. It feels cool and refreshing as it goes on.

The scent: it isn’t very strong – reminds me a little of the Soy face cleanser. Nothing offensive or clinical, just a little woody. I find that the few Fresh skincare products I’ve tried or tested seem to have a similar scent.

The feeling: Sensational – it felt so cool and refreshing on my skin, tingly and fresh. The tingle lasted even after I washed the mask off, making this something superbly refreshing to use on a hot afternoon or to freshen up after a long stuffy day.

The results: Skin feels great – very smooth, soft and supple. There also seems to be a clarity about skin – very clean and clear. I found that I felt I had good skin days a couple of days after that. Its not like my post-acne spots and the like are all gone but everything just seems better.

I think of all the masks I’ve tried before, this Fresh Black Tea mask is one of those that I like best and I feel works really good with my skin. This is something I’d use before an event or during the festive season. I’m so glad I decided to buy the set – seriously, I don’t know what has taken me THIS long to try out Fresh since it’s been  in my face for a very long time and people all around me have talked and talked about it. Given my (too) frequent trips to Sephora, the delayed foray into Fresh is really rather surprising! Here’s a peek at some of the other Fresh kits I picked up – I can’t wait to try the rest of my Fresh stash!
