French Newcomers Talkie Walkie Break the Indie Mold with ‘banshee’ [stream]

Talkie Walkie’s debut single, “Banshee”, is refreshing in all the right ways. The French band is clearly onto something great with this warm little number, hovering on the line between pop and rock. While maintaining a sunny, lighthearted atmosphere, it’s humming bassline and surging spurts of guitar create an engaging balance of sound that urges further repetition. Intriguing is the best way to describe “Banshee”. Something about the hints of psychedelic guitar that make their way into the pre-bridge, the perfectly aligned dual vocals and the way they keep and break indie rock standards within the track seem to indicate there are more delightful things in store from the band. Talkie Walkie’s debut album will be out this October on Freemount Records.
