Take-Two Interactive Software, Inc. (2K Games) TTWO (NASDAQ)  has purchased the domain name MafiaGame.com which was owned by Frank Schilling’s Name Administration Inc. and has put up a website to launch its new Mafia III game, which is set for “worldwide reveal” on August 5, 2015 according to the new site.

I had reported several Mafia 3 domain registrations by Take-Two in early July 2015, which included: Mafia3TheGame.com, MafiaiiiTheGame.com, MafiaThree.com and MafiaThreeTheGame.com. MafiaGame.com moved to whois privacy on July 23, 2015 according to whois history records.

2K Games has popular games like Grand Theft Auto, Midnight Club, Manhunt and BioShock to mention a few. The companies official website is Take2Games.com where it highlights its many games.

The official website for the “Mafia” series was using Mafia-Game.com according to the “official web site” button on this page. The hyphen domain only resolves a login box though.

The plural domain name MafiaGames.com is owned by another gaming company, Beep Games, Inc. according to whois records but that domain name does not resolve. Mafia3.com nor MafiaIII.com are owned by Take-Two according to whois records.

MafiaGame.com has been registered since November 13, 2005 and a question would be… how much did MafiaGame.com sell for? We do not have a confirmed sale price currently, but I was able to find a domain name listing on Afternic.com that has a Buy Now price of $68,000.

Take-Two Interactive has over $2.2 Billion in assets as of March 2015 a market cap of $2.67 Billion.
