There’s a new kid on the block in Shawlands to supplement its growing cafe scene – The Coffee Station.
With its bright exterior (and interior), you won’t miss it. We ventured inside for a bite to eat and to check it out.
The inside is quite minimal but clean, tidy and you can see everything – cakes, bread, and of course most importantly the amazing looking cheesecakes.
Artisan Cheesecakes supply the goods and if we weren’t so full from the pannini – we’d have got one. We’ll be in straight for a cheesecake next time.
Husband and wife duo James and Monika Peters are the brains behind this venture and are chatty, friendly and eager to pick our brains for feedback.
We tried out their Posh Tuna Cheese Melt (tuna, corn, cheese , and red onion) as well as Ham and Cheese Panini.
Crisp bread, hot filings and dinky pretzels too. We were asked about our opinion of the bread as they had got different bread in – this was good to see, actual interest in the customer (they had no idea who we were
The price is amazing, £3.50 for panini and £2 for a toastie – pretty good for sit in we think.
We didn,t try the coffee as it was a humid day and some “ginger” was needed.
We will certainly be back to check out the coffee and cake – as you can’t visit a coffee station without trying the coffee (well we did!).
