My mom taught me three important things: Don’t waste your time trying to change a man, you can never have too many shoes, and how to frost a cake. I sway more toward the domestic damsel in distress side of the Martha Stewart scale, so if I can do this, you can too. Yes, more of the frosting ended up all over my “Will Cook for Shoes” apron than on the actual cake, but hey, nothing is ever perfect the first time around. (FYI: I used Pillsbury strawberry cake mix and frosting. I couldn’t find edible flowers, so I wrapped the flower ends in aluminum foil in the rare chance that they may contaminate the cake).
