I’m excited to take part in the virtual book tour for the book Flightless Goose written by Eric Goodman and illustrated by Nataliya Goodman .

We make it part of our nightly routine to read a story at bedtime. The biggest piece of advice that was given to us at Nevaeh’s kindergarten round up to prepare her for kindergarten was to read, read, READ to her. Kids love listening to the same stories over and over but I like to mix it up with some new books every now and again. I volunteered to review the book Flightless Goose because it’s a book teaching tolerance for people who are different. How much more relevant can you get when it comes to autism? Not only that but there are some “unlikely” heroes in the book and that was pretty cool to see in a children’s book.
As we are asking the world for acceptance and respect, reading books like Flightless Goose to young children cements these ideas early for them and can really make a great impact later!
Here is the description from the book from the inside cover of the book: Flightless Goose is a story based around a real goose which lived on a lake in Columbus, Ohio. Due to some unfortunate circumstances, the goose was unable to fly south for the winter with the other geese. Eric and Nataliya Goodman, after witnessing the incident, named the goose Gilbert, and envisioned a beautiful tale that would delight children, while subtly teaching them lessons about self worth, tolerance, and friendship.
I am excited to give away a copy of Flightless Goose. If you’d like to get a copy for yourself just go become of fan of Flightless Goose on Facebook and come back here and leave me a comment letting me know you did that! Or of course you can purchase the book for yourself (or perhaps a gift for the teacher when the kids head back to school?) right here for $15.95.
