As promised last week, I am posting two blogs this week about ways to wear Radiant Orchid, Pantone’s color of the year 2014.  On Sunday, I posted ways to wear the color to work and, today, I wanted to use my “One Item, Five Fashionable Ways” series to give more tips.  While I usually spotlight one clothing item in this series and show five ways to wear it, I am changing things up and featuring the color Radiant Orchid and choosing five different pieces to showcase the color.

For additional tips on how to wear Radiant Orchid you can refer to Sunday’s blog here.  Let’s jump right into some looks.

Anyone up for Radiant Orchid jeans?  Anyone, anyone?  While it may be a surprising choice for fall and winter, a pair of bright colored jeans, like these from Rag & Bone can wake anyone out of their winter coma.  With such a shocking color, it’s wise to keep the rest of the outfit understated.  I love Radiant Orchid with gray and navy and styled these jeans with a big comfy Zara sweater and a navy Uniqlo tank.  To finish the look, I used a pair of gray Frye boots, a fun Modcloth tote bag and a pair of grey earrings by Charlene K..

Next, what about a t-shirt?  A Radiant Orchid tee, like this one from J. Crew, is a great way to dip a little toe into the purple waters.  Another shade I love with purple is olive.  Here I styled the t-shirt with a pair of Guess skinny cargos and a navy Mango cardigan.  Lastly, another shade that works beautifully with Radiant Orchid is burgundy.  I couldn’t resist these Boden gloves that picked up both of these trendy shades.  The outfit is finish with a cool pair of Steve Madden boots, a Stuart Weitzman tote bag a pair of simple earrings and necklace by Janna Conner that picks up all the colors in the outfit.

For super casual days, this Radiant Orchid sweater by Athleta is perfect.  Here I paired the color with teal earrings and lime flats by Puma.  The outfit is finished with a Le Sportsac tote that pulls together the shades of the outfit.

Casual does not have to mean super laid back.  Often we have a dressy casual event and I love the way these Radiant Orchid t-strap shoes from Modcloth work with these Alice + Olivia camel pants.  For a soft look, I added an ivory Zara sweater and filled in the neck with a Stella & Dot necklace.  With all the warm and cool colors, this versatile gold and silver bag by Tignanello and gold bangles finishes the outfit.

Teal and Radiant orchid is a lovely combination, especially for casual and when you do it with a fun pair of Converse sneakers.  Paired with a Patagonia corduroy pants, a casual ivory sweater, the same tote used in the first look and a pair of pink and purple earrings by Blu Bijoux.
