Five Things to Consider on Your Las Vegas Vacation

By Davedtc @davedtc

Planning a trip to Las Vegas can sure be exciting! All the cool hotels, bright lights, new people and even booze in the streets! But don’t let your enthusiasm for adventure carry you away. There will be plenty of time to lose your head once you get to Las Vegas. The planning stages should be treated with the utmost diligence and respect. This is your precious Vegas vacation, after all!

Five Things to Consider on your Las Vegas Vacation

There are dozens of things you’ll want to keep in mind as you head to Las Vegas but there are 5 main points you’ll want to consider first and foremost. Here are 5 things to consider on your Las Vegas vacation.

1. Consider the attractions you want to check out when booking your hotel. Sure, it’s great to stay at a hotel because of its reputation or because it comes highly recommend from a friend. Keep in mind though that The Strip isn’t as walkable as some people like to make it seem. As you’re booking your trip to Las Vegas, have in mind which attractions, shows or other stuff you want to check out and then book a hotel that’s conveniently located to it all. In the end, you’ll be spending more time out of your hotel room getting into mischief than you’ll spend in it and you’d be surprised at how much money can be saved on transportation just by staying somewhere close to the things you want to do!

2. Don’t book a hotel without using a promotion code. Unless you don’t care about saving money, of course. It’s easy to get overexcited and book the most eye-catching hotel right away, but with a little bit of patience and investigation you can find a plethora of Vegas Hotel Deals and limited time offers. All of the most popular hotels on the Las Vegas Strip offer promotions all year that are meant to save you money and enhance your Vegas experience. From room and show packages, to free booze promotions, to discounted room upgrades, there is always something being offered at Vegas hotels. You’re going to spend money on a room anyway… might as well receive a few perks with Las Vegas hotel promos!

3. Save your phone for emergencies. Seriously. What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas, so there’s no need for you to be attached to your phone all vacation. Put it down, get off social media, stop answering everyone’s texts and focus on enjoying your trip! Your group will be pleased that you refrained from tweeting everything that happened, regardless of what you think. And plus, with your eyes down on your phone all trip, who knows what you could miss? Things happen fast in Vegas and there’s no room at the poker table for your iPhone.

4. Know your budget and stick to it. The last thing you want is to feel miserable on your flight home about how you prematurely spent half of your year’s salary! Before you head to Las Vegas, figure out exactly how much cash you can afford to blow in Vegas. Then budget it out into different amounts for different things. For example, if you have $500 to spend in Vegas, set aside $100 for food, $100 for gambling and $300 for booze. Seems about right, doesn’t it? Knowing that you have a limit to spend on Vegas’ many excesses should help make them less excessive.

5. When in doubt, call ahead of time and ask. Maybe that club you’ve been dying to hit up has a special guest and an astronomical cover tonight or the restaurant you saw on TV just closed for remodeling. Things change in Vegas constantly and often times without warning, so when you’re in doubt about something it’s always a good idea to call ahead and ask a real person. The internet is a useful tool on-the-go in Vegas but you will never get as straight an answer online as you will over the phone. Save yourself the headache of wasted time and money by calling ahead to assuage your doubts.
