If you don't have anything planned this upcoming Burns night but will be craving some haggis by then, then here are a few suggestions...

Five events to celebrate Burns Night in Edinburgh

Award-winning Wedgwood The Restaurant on Edinburgh's historical Royal Mile will be celebrating Burns Night for the very first time on 25 January 2017. Since opening in 2008 the restaurant has traditionally been closed for much of January to allow staff to have some time off after the Christmas and Hogmanay festivities, but this year the restaurant will be serving up its own modern take on a Burns supper. Chef / Patron Paul Wedgwood has established himself as one of Edinburgh's best loved chefs and one who has an innovative take on haggis which he serves all year round and includes haggis made from pigeon, rabbit and even squirrel. Diners looking to enjoy something a bit different to the classic Cock-a-leekie soup and Haggis, neeps and tatties will be able to enjoy a menu of Roast partridge, Jerusalem artichokes, spelt, squash, kale, followed by Douglas fir cured salmon with grapefruit. 4. Contini Burns Night Ceilidh

At The Scottish Cafe & Restaurant enjoy a delicious three course meal, showcasing the best of our Scottish produce, and then dance the night away as the resident Ceilidh Band entertains you with reels and jigs until midnight. Don't worry if you don't know the steps as a caller will be on hand to guide you through each dance. 5. Burns Whisky and Cheese Tasting at Tigerlily

Feeling those post-Christmas blues? Wll how about an evening of Scottish cheese and whisky hosted in Tigerlily' s exclusive Library on 25th of January from 6:30-8:30pm?!

This decadent tasting pairs Stockbridge's own George Mewes cheese with five whiskies hand selected by Tigerlily's whisky ambassador, Steve Cooney.

A match made in heaven!

Afterwards you're invited to continue celebrating the life of our great Scottish poet with cocktails, wine and a wee nightcap in Tigerlily's glamorous bar.
