#FitnessFriday - Trying The Jenny Craig Program

Last week I had mentioned to you guys that I will be starting Jenny Craig Program soon. Today is my second day so there is not much I can talk about the results at the moment. But what I do want to talk about it why I am doing it.
If you are a regular reader then it should not be news to you that I have been on a life long quest to clean my diet. Every year I take small steps which I can continue until they become habits. For example, I don't think alcohol any more, I sleepy by 9:30 - 10:00pm every day, I workout (strenuously) six times a week and this year I am trying to reach a point where my food choices do not change just because my location or circumstances change.
The real struggle of 2016 was that I would be successful in forming good habits and a healthy routine but as soon as I would travel all my habits would go out of the window and I would start sugar and card loading. This behavior was partially due to lack of very many vegetarian options and partially due to poor decision-making.

When I received an opportunity to collaborate with Jenny Craig on a campaign, I thought it couldn't have come at a better time. I have never done a food program before and I thought this would be a good undertaking as I love challenging myself and I am committed to change this year.
What resonated with me about Jenny Craig was that it was not one of those "it" diets or a fad. Instead it focuses on how to enable their members on changing their view about food and in turn see real results.

If you do not have any diet restrictions (vegetarian, vegan, etc.) then you truly can appreciate their more than 100 premium menu items in irresistible flavors, created by professional chefs.

Upon my visit with the consultant (Shoutout to Sandra Daly!), she provided me with information on portion control, tips on healthy eating habits and strategies to combine delicious Jenny Craig Meals and Snacks with fresh produce which is rich in water and fiber to keep me feeling full longer with fewer calories.

My main goal here to truly commit to smaller portions and cleaner diet, but losing* that extra five pounds wouldn't hurt eight. I will be sharing my experience and results in exactly a month's time in Fitness Friday. *Results not typical. Members following the Jenny Craig program, on average, lose 1-2 lbs. per week. I received promotional consideration.
