Happy Friday AND Happy (early) Mother’s Day to all of you haute mamas out there! This marks my THIRD Mother’s Day. OMG, I can’t believe how quickly time flies!
It’s crazy because I’m getting the house ready for an adoption home study NEXT WEEK! It’s almost surreal as we’re going through the motions of the adoption process again. It’s familiar, yet also feels like unchartered territory, as we’ve completed the forms and fingerprints and background checks. I imagine it likes any pregnancy. You never know how it’s going to be. We were so lucky with Little M’s placement, but I wonder how this next one will go.
Even with all of the uncertainty of the upcoming adoption, one thing that I can focus on is being present with Little M. That’s always been important to me as a mother. Maybe, it stems from us taking over seven years to have this blessing in our life. Mr. S calls me a hover mom. Maybe, it’s that! LOL! Either way, I love being with my little man (he takes center stage on my Snapchat many days).
Bonus if I can hang with him AND look put together! Speaking of looking “mommy chic”, these flare jeans are fantastic. I got them in size 2P so that I can wear them with flat sandals to the park, reading time, and music class. I probably could have sized down to 0 if I wanted to really look a size smaller! Just letting you know to GO DOWN a size because the stretch is amazing, and get petite if you don’t want to hem. (For reference, I’m 5’4″.) It’s the ‘Lift Tuck’ technology, their criss-cross panel design, that sucks everything in to give you a flatter stomach.
By the way… YES, I do wear white with Little M. YES, I do get dirty, BUT everything is washable! Mr. S thinks I’m crazy, but why not look fab and feel #FitToBe the best mom! I try my best every day and feel so blessed to have this opportunity to be a mom to Little M! It didn’t come easy, and so I’m SO GRATEFUL that God gave us this chance.

Don’t they look gorgeous? Of course, I’m partial since they are beautiful inside and out. Cathy is casual chic in her graphic top, ‘samantha’ jeans, and flatforms. Why didn’t I get those jeans?! LOL! Heather is styling in a cute blazer and skinny jeans. And I’m still on the all white kick wearing a sleeveless jacket, tank, and flares.

I value our friendship so much. We are mothers in different stages of our lives. Cathy’s children now have children, and she is lucky to be a grandmother. Heather’s children are grown up and heading to college. I’m literally in the beginning stages and about to start a new chapter with this second adoption. They’ve been amazing friends and have listened to my stories, calmed me about things I don’t yet understand, and make me laugh. You know… laughter is the best medicine.
