First Impressions the Second Time

By Kdcoduto @katydee

I missed London the moment the train to Paris left from St. Pancras International Station almost exactly a year ago. While I was excited to see Paris for the first time, London had already left a lasting mark. I knew I was going to be back.

I didn’t know it would be less than a year later that I would be here once again.

Sure enough, I’ve made my way back to what I firmly believe is the greatest city in the world. Since arriving here on Thursday, May 16, I have been preparing to conduct more research on publicity in the music industry, while also revisiting some of my favorite London spots from last time.

What has been amazing to me in these first three solid days is how much of the city stuck with me. It didn’t take anything for me to navigate around Clerkenwell once again, which is where we’re based. I remember where different restaurants are, as well as how to get to the Farringdon tube station. I knew when I left last year that I was comfortable here; coming back was one of the most natural moves I’ve made.

This extended to seeing some of the most major landmarks in the world. I remembered the way to Big Ben, and I was able to find Neal Yard’s once again. Don’t know what Neal’s Yard is? It’s a secret part of Covent Garden, tucked into an alley – and it’s one of the best spots in London. Like I said, I took most of this weekend to revisit some of my very favorite spots, and they are all ingrained in my mind.

Now, after a full weekend of sight-seeing, it’s really time to work once again on preparing for interviews and arranging even more.
