Training and Experience:
Any combination of training and experience which would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the required knowledge and abilities would be:
Bachelor’s degree in fire science, fire administration, public administration, or a related field. At least ten (10) years of professional firefighting experience, including a minimum of three (3) years of experience in a supervisory position equivalent to that of a Fire Battalion Chief with the City of Merced.
Possession of California Chief Officer Certification.
Special Requirements:
Possession of a valid Class B or Class C with Fire Fighter endorsements, California Driver’s License issued by the Department of Motor Vehicles.
