Fête De La Musique... Or Noise?

Tonight was the Fête de la Musique, and there are free concerts all over town until late. "But not as late as last year," said a storeowner on the rue Lepic, in Montmartre. "It's tending to die down. Ten years ago there was much more animation and the music went on all night, but now it stops at 2 a.m."

Montmartre was full of bands on every corner and greasy smoke from sausages being grilled in the open. Restaurants had their windows and terraces open wide and were serving on the street. And in several places, it was hard to hear one band over another within half a block. But everyone was in a good mood.

I guess not everyone. I saw several of these posters.

Too much noise
Too much sound
One of the solutions...
Earplugs

The telephone number is for an anti-noise association called France Acouphène or France Tinnitus.
