Father's Day

Father's day
I wanted to get this post up earlier than I have but because it features my dad's present from Me and Ewan I have left it until the night before Father's Day. I wanted to get my dad something personal and something that has had a lot of thought go into it - After all he deserves it. So here is a little DIY which I hope you enjoy and take on board for any future events you have to come. You could really create something magical with this simple idea. Father's daySo here we go, Firstly you will need a plain piece of paper/card (I used paper but for future reference card would be easier for Ewan to use). Next get the subject to hold the paper and then get shooting away. Father's day I had my sister to the side of me making funny facial expressions at Ewan to get him to laugh. I actually found this easier to do than I first expected. Toddlers are so much fun to photograph because they aren't conscious of how they look. Tip if you are doing this with a baby or on your own, then use a soft toy to attach to your camera lens to keep their attention.  Father's dayNext choose what you want to have 'written' on the paper, I chose to keep mine simple with a four letter sentence. Choosing my favorite 4 photographs from the shoot was easily the hardest task of the day. Father's dayThe chosen few were then imported and edited into photoshop and using the text tool I wrote the phrase I wanted to say on them. If you don't have photoshop their are plenty of online photo editing softwares such as Pixlr. I placed all the photos together to make my final photograph, using an online print company called Photobox I had the final image printed off in 12x12 and then all you need to do is find a suitable frame. All in all this project cost me around £10 (for the print/frame) but you could make this even cheaper by printing yourself and already having the right sized frame. Happy Father's day to all the Dad's out their have a great day. Leigh xo
