New York Fashion Week: La Perla Fall 2013 Collection

As one of the more prestigious brands in lingerie, La Perla made a splash at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in New York last week with a stunning collection with a split personality. The theme of the night was “Naughty and Nice” with not one but two collections for Fall 2013. The ‘Duende’ collection showcased the sweet stylish side of the brand with Spanish themed designs inspired by the bull fights of Spain. A rich color palette of black, forest green, sapphire blue, and fiery red inspired by the paintings of Spanish artist, Francisco Goya went against elegant lace, silk, and tulle to create a lingerie lover’s dream. The romantic collection was another masterpiece created from the luxury lingerie brand. Right on the other side of the wall was another collection that has been dubbed as the “dark side of La Perla” with a much more seductive vibe in atmosphere. Inspired by E.L James Fifty Shade of Grey Trilogy, the collection called The Black Label started in 2003 and celebrated its grand relaunch this season. The playful chic contrasting with the provocative influences of our favorite BDSM love story made for an amazing intimates collection. The stunning dualism made for a multi-layered collection with a look for every kind of woman.

London Fashion Week: Triumph as Official Lingerie Supplier & Pop-Up Space

Now that New Yorkers have showed off their latest collections, London has now opened the flood gates for the British fashion world to show off their trends. Lingerie manufacturer, Triumph, has returned to the center of the fashion sphere as the British’s Fashion Council Official Lingerie Supplier for the catwalk this season. The label also held an innovative pop-up space in the Covent Garden from February 15th – 18th with grand exhibitions, talks, live installations, and the latest collection for one of the largest lingerie manufacturers in the world. Proclaimed designers Matthew Williamson, Sian Whitefoot, Louise Gray, and Felder Felder collaborated for the Makers’ Collection, an exhibition re-imagining some of the brand’s signature designs over the years. Other events like British artist, David Longshaw, multi-media art installation to talks with Chief Executive of the British Fashion Council, Caroline Rush, and supermodel Helena Christensen also made heads turns for the label’s event. It’s safe to say that the British fashion world takes their undergarments seriously – just the way the we like it.
