This new shade won't be out until 2013, but MAC makeup artists are already obsessed. It showed up in the form of 1960s-inspired cat eyes at Richard Chai and again as an all-over color at Katie Gallagher. "It's a creamy liner that sets," says makeup artist James Kaliardos. "And it's the perfect soft taupe-y color." Every model we talked to loved the look.[TotalBeauty]
Model Walking Ramp for Richard Chai Show 2012 One of my favorites from Richard Chai's Collection
For the look for Richard Chai’s show, he created a “soft, 60s eye with clean sporty skin.” Using a new MAC Fluidline Liner in “dirty blonde” that he described as “brow-friendly” he created a very graphic, 60s line in the crease of the eye and a “floating line” on the top, so that the liner wasn’t quite hitting the eyelashes but floating around the shape of the eye. He noted that he liked the idea that it wasn’t a black shadow, making the look a bit softer. For the “sporty skin” Kaliardos created a “perfect” base using foundation and concealer where needed, but noted that the look for spring is subtle and sheer — you don’t want to layer on the makeup. To finish the makeup look, he used MAC lip conditioner and a bit of Dim Lip Erase to “beige out” the lip look. [BeautyHigh]
I personally love the shade and after is has this taupe-y description - I am sold. I have doubt if it will suit Indian Skin tone, but we can make it work. To my eyes, it appears to be brought from grey-family that suits our fair skin models.
Would you ever use a shade like MAC's Dirty Blonde?
