Family Love at the San Antonio Museum of Art

By Michelle Hernandez @Familylovesa
Have some budding artists in your house? You may not know until you expose them to The San Antonio Museum of Art. Perfect for introducing and involving families in the arts, SAMA has a monthly, First Sunday for Families, where children under 12 years old can participate in a free themed activity.

Looks like we've missed the first Sunday of September, but you can still catch Mayor Julian Castro, debuting "1, 2, 3, Sí", a bilingual children's book that features works that are housed at the San Antonio Museum of Art.  It is the first in a series that will feature colors, shapes and animals. This event will happen Saturday, September 10th from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
For the next months, the First Sunday for Families events are themed:
  • October 2 - Shape Up! Fractals, Tessellations and More
  • November 6 - Day of the Dead
  • December 4 - Chinese Jade

You can also check out their Youth & Families page on their website for more details. All the events mentioned above will be added to the Family Love in San Antonio Calendar. Check it out!
Thanks again!
