Hi metalheads! Today, I’m going to introduce a Melodic Death Metal band from Finland called Exthenia, which has a highly recommended sound that you should not miss.
Exthenia was formed in 2012 in Pori and these guys are now promoting their new demo 2015, which includes three re-recorded songs taken from their previous releases, now with the new Exthenia’s vocalist.
Their debut demo entitled “Endless Path” was released in February 2013 and, in my opinion, this is a great begining from these guys, offering us a good Melodic Death Metal sound that I recommend you to listen. This first demo contains three tracks, the fantastic “Defeat” which is one of my favorite Exthenia’s songs, “Endless Path” with very good guitar riffs and “Escape” song with cool background keyboards, closing a very good first demo from these Finnish Metallers.
A few months later, in May 2013, Exthenia released their EP called “Dominate The Wind” with five new tracks. The song which gives its name to the EP has really very good guitar solos, “Falling Down” is another great track with a catchy melody and, one more time, fantastic solos that definitely you have to listen!! “Eternal Spirit” with a very cool begining or the fast and brutal sound of “Disappointment” are very recommended. Closing the EP there is “Death Within”, which they have re-recorded now in the new self-titled demo 2015.
In February 2014, these guys come back with a fantastic new single entitled “Future Is A Dead End” which not disappoint to Children Of Bodom fans, I think “Future Is A Dead End” is really an amazing song, oh yeaah!! And there is also “Left Undone” track with a brutal sound, which we can also enjoy in the new demo 2015.
Exthenia’s self-titled demo 2015 has been released a few weeks ago and I have to say that, despite their sound to date was very good, these guys have greatly improved the Exthenia’s sound in this new demo!! These three re-recorded songs as well as the new vocalist power show us now an Exthenia band more brutal than ever, fantastic!! Score: 9/10.
