Exploring Nature With Science Tools

By Smilinglikesunshine @smilinglikesuns
As the weather has been sunny and warm over the Easter holidays, we spent lots of time outdoors enjoying the first signs of spring.
Exploring Nature With Science Tools
During these trips the children had a chance to explore the nature with the Discovery Channel Bug Barn that was recently sent to us for review purposes. This bug barn contains a couple of tools for observation of insects. We took the magnifying glass and the canister with us to a walk in the woods.

We also received the Discovery Channel 100x Microscope that was a big hit with my eight year old Defne. Exploring Nature With Science Tools
With 36 pieces, this is an excellent first microscope for older children. It comes with a few specimens for the children to explore. It also has got extra slides and materials for the children to prepare their own specimens. We prepared our own slide using a bluebell petal. Defne also wanted to explore a little piece of paper but she has discovered that thick materials don't work well with the microscope.
