Forrester analyst Michael Yamnitsky released a report that takes an in-depth look at the intelligent assistant space and highlights a few companies that are making waves. (Check out the full report here: Pioneer Vendors: Proactive Assistance). Yamnitsky calls us one of “three proactive assistance startups to watch,” along with the good folks at Easilydo and Tipbit

Over on the Forrester blog, the author offers a condensed version of his forecast. He foresees high levels of user frustration in the beginning stages of digital assistants, which parallels the frustration users feel when voice recognition programs are inaccurate. Both areas are in their infancy so the technology has not reached its full potential — yet.

The report also predicts that major tech companies will continue their involvement in the space, evident with Google Now, Apple’s Siri, and Microsoft’s Cortana. Recent acquisitions also point to higher levels of investment. While major tech companies are upping their investments, Yamnitsky argues that all-purpose assistants like Google Now will disappear, while assistants that satisfy specific functions will triumph.

Take a look at the full Forrester report here along with the overview on the blog.
