I’ll be the first to admit that I totally pigged out during the end of the year festivities, andddd I’m totally not overjoyed that CNY is in January this year. I mean, angbaos aren’t that packed with cash anymore; in fact, the only things I get in abundance are the usual “when are you getting married?” and “you’re so fat” comments. Ah well, that’s life of a typical Asian person for you.
Anyhoos, you can totally imagine the relief I felt when I received an invite from ONLY aesthetics inviting me to try the new Venus Freeze Treatment. It’s supposedly the next big thing in terms of face and body contouring in Hollywood, with fans in the likes of Oprah Winfrey, Kim Kardashian, and Jennifer Lopez.
This is more of a lifting and contouring treatment and not an instant fat-loss solution. The non-invasive treatment may not be liposuction, but hey, if I can shift my fats around to make my body line look more streamlined, why not? I was totally up for it.

Here’s my treatment room – the same clean and cosy-sized room
The Treatment
Despite its name, the Venus Freeze treatment does not involve any cold (thankfully! I couldn’t go through another -140 degrees celsius treatment again lol). Instead, it uses heat from a patented Multi Polar Magnetic Pulse Technology and Magnetic Pulses to target fat cells and activate the skin’s natural restoration process.The controlled thermal action from the Multi Polar Magnetic Pulse Technology stimulates collagen production and elastin synthesis for wrinkle and cellulite reduction. Simultaneously, the Magnetic Pulses induce the growth of new blood vessels and spur the growth of cells that produce collagen fibres, rejuvenating the supply of nutrients to the skin for firmer and younger looking skin. When combined, these two components work in synergy to deliver anti-aging results – think skin tightening, wrinkle reduction and cellulite reduction.

My therapist chose to contour my sides – the area along the rib cage, waist and the hips – so that I could get a more streamlined body contour. She applied this glycerine gel to my body, and then ran the handheld piece over my body in gentle massaging Figure-8 motions. It really felt like a hot stone massage. At times when it got a little too hot, all I had to do was to yelp “ick too hot!” and she would make the adjustments.
After the 40-minute treatment ended, my therapist wiped away the glycerine with a wet tissue and I was shown a composite photo of the before and after photos (which I’m clearly not about to show here. This is a family-friendly blog ya’know? No horrifying gruesome photos allowed lol). The back bulge under the bra straps had reduced by about half, and my body seemed more contoured and streamlined. Yay!
This is NOT me, but the effects are pretty much similar – this is what I mean by the body becoming more contoured and streamlined.

The non-invasive treatment has no downtime (except for some minor muscle aches – as though you’ve done one too many sit-ups- which I’m told is normal), and treatment time ranges from 15 minutes for the face to 40 minutes for the body. For long-lasting and more visible results, you’ll need to go for at least 6-10 treatments. Prices start from $388 per session (based on a package price).
