Event: Kate Spring Summer Collection 2013

By Beautifulbuns

Another one from a couple of weeks back – Kate’s Spring Summer 2013 launch, which focused mainly on gold. Now I’ve always been more of a gold person – I never saw the allure or financial value in a diamond. You can’t resell it and its value doesn’t rise over the years. Yes it’s really sparkly pretty bling rock, but hey, a Swarovski crystal is just as pretty right? Fine, call me a cheapo dipshit. hah.

Every girl’s dream – a table filled to the brim with makeup items to play with

Taking a closer look at the products on display (which I assume will be used by a makeup artist for a demonstration of some sorts later)

I’m so loving this Kate Eye Shadow Base – it comes in two shades, a sparkly shimmery one (the white one) and the beige one. I really wanted to swatch it, but I didn’t know if I was overstepping my boundaries, so I reined the itchy fingers in.

And yes I was right! Lolent did a makeup demonstration on how we can get shimmery pretty gold eyes that aren’t OTT, and ways to take it from day to night

The  latest powder foundation from Kate comes with this spiel : Pure transparent powder and shimmers which reduce pore visibility for smooth and flawless skin without any cakey powdery finish. The titanium oxide particles are sized optimally to cover redness and even out skin tone. There’s also a water-repellent coating.

The only new launch item that I didn’t try (I mean, who could bear to destroy that smooth untouched gel surface? Yes I’m weird that way. Respekt the makeupppppp) The marketing spiel: Made of a fade-resistant formula that runs smoothly over the skin, it also comes with a brush that helps you create sharp lines that are impervious to sweat and moisture all day long. Comes in Matt Black and Glow Black.

I’m really loving this Shiny Eyelid Liner, $20.50 – check out my instagram photo to see how it looks (before my review comes up)

The Lash Extension Mascara, $25.50, which I also received, so watch out for my review
:D
(P.S. don’t you think it’s really clever of me to use the table decor / props has a photo background? muahahah. -self pat on back-)

Kate Brightening Makeup Base, $20.50

I tried editing the color to get a more accurate representation, but I couldn’t.. the lighting was just too yellow. Anyhoos, this product is really smooth and gives a nice natural glow. It’s supposed to help reduce pore visibility and also can be a highlighter. As Crazed Queen of Highlighters, I will reserve my judgment till I try it out

:D
Available in Light Beige only.

Kate’s Spring/Summer 2013 Collection is available now at selected BHG, Guardian Pharmacy, OG, John Little, Metro, Nishino Pharmacy, Sasa Cosmetics and Watsons.
