Event: Good Brother’s Wine Bar Launch Party, Stockbridge, Edinburgh

By Emma @glasgowfoodie

We were lucky enough to be invited to the launch of Good Brother’s last week and what a treat it was!

Bubbles

Greeted with a lovely glass of Italian sparking, it was striking how much more light and airy the space looked and felt compared to its previous rendition as the Bon V.

Nibbles

There was also a fantastic looking table of nibbles including frittata, charcuterie and cheese. This was my kind of party!

Haggis Wine

Haggis Wine

Patrick from Patrick Sullivan Wines in Australia was on hand to tell us about “Haggis Wine”, named after one of his wife’s birthday cakes! Along with “New World Wine”, a not so subtle snub to the older wine making regions as well as new world winemakers who love to use French and Italian adages in their wine descriptions!

Patrick Sullivan

Patrick Sullivan

Aside from his hilarious anecdotes, what really shone through his big personality was his passion for making wine as natural as possible.

New World Wine

New World Wine

With a focus on natural wines, Good Brother’s is a Godsend for sulphite intolerant wine lovers like me!

Grazing Menu

They are serving lunch and dinner as well as a grazing menu of large and small plates if you’re just after a little something to pick at with a glass of wine or few.

The Bar

The wines by the glass rotate, so check back often for chances to taste bottles you may not get to otherwise. Well worth the effort to visit if you’re not already local to the area.
