I jumped at the chance and hopped on my train down to the big smoke...
After tube'in it London style to Covent Garden, I met Alice before making our way through the glorious rain to the Covent Garden Hotel. I love how you meet some bloggers for the first time and it instantly feels like you've already met before - this is exactly how I felt about the lovely lady! The Hotel itself was beautiful, greeted by a lovely concierge we were shown into the Brasserie Max restaurant where we were to have our Afternoon Tea. There we met Deb, a brand representative and the gorgeous Sophie who was handling the PR side of things.
We learnt so much about the brand from Deb, first and foremost that Antipodes is a brand from New Zealand that's ethos evolves around the concept of green beauty. The brand uses organic plants that they incorporate into their products to promote healthier looking skin in a more natural way. All their products are perfectly fine for the use of vegetarians and all their packaging can be recycled - the most perfect, envrionmentally-caring brand! I was so excited to give the products on the table a sniff and a test. I'm already a huge lover of the Aura Manuka Honey Mask and I was definitely spying up the Apostle Serum and Nirvana Hand & Body Wash.
The Afternoon Tea was absolutely delicious and I was stuffed by the end of it - I couldn't even finish it all! A stunning selection of sandwiches, warm scones with lots of clotted cream and jam, and my favorite - ALL THE CAKE! For tea I opted for a Summer Mint as I love a good ol' mint tea, Morrocon Mint being one of my favourites (check me out, tea connoisseur over 'ere). Some of the ladies opted for a 'Gentlemen's Afternoon Tea' which came with fish goujons, a mini steak sandwich and a scotch egg! Fantastic!
Overall the event was amazing. I chatted to two other very lovely ladies, the gorgeous Lorna and Fiona who were an absolute treat. I just LOVE meeting other bloggers! I love learning about new brands too, it opened my eyes up to the world of organic and natural beauty and I can't wait to try some more products by them! Let me know your thoughts on green and organic beauty - because I would LOVE to know!
