Even-strength Scoring-chances Per-100 Possession Plays -above Replacement

By Kicks @Chrisboucher73

The top offensive-players on any team create the most scoring-chances. The most efficient offensive-players create the most scoring-chances per-possession play. An offensive-touch is defined as any play  a player attempts while in possession of the puck. Plays used in this calculation include; passes, dekes, dump-ins, and shots. Scoring-chances included in this post reflect only those scoring-chances where the player indicated was directly involved in the creation of the chance, and not just on the ice. This metric is similar to offensive-efficiency in Basketball.
A list of all the metrics I track can be found here
The calculate a player's efficiency above-replacement, we simply subtract the average value for a player who plays the same position from that player's own value.
Among all Habs players, Thomas Vanek is easily the most efficient offensive-contributor, creating nearly 4 more scoring-chances per-100 possession plays than the average Montreal winger. Among centres, David Desharnais produced just-under 1.5 more scoring-chances per-100 possession plays than the average Habs center.
Nathan Beaulieu's small sample size helped him produce more scoring-chances per-100 possession-plays than any other Montreal d-man. Not surprisingly, among those defensemen with substantial sample sizes, Andrei Markov and PK Subban were among the team's top producers of scoring-chances per-100 possession plays.
Only even-strength events were used in this calculation.
