Enhance Your Fanhood This NFL Season

By Dudepins @dudepins

We’re about 2 weeks away from the start of the NFL season – naturally a joyous time for men everywhere. Football hype tends to get going literally months in advance, and by the time the games roll around most guys can’t wait to camp out and watch some actual football. But then again, there’s nothing wrong with looking for extra ways to enjoy the season as well. So without further ado, here are 5 awesome ways to get a bit more involved with your favorite teams and players this season.

Sports Fan Winner

1. Join A Fantasy League

To millions of football fans already playing in such leagues, this probably seems like old advice – but, there are plenty of football purists who resist fantasy leagues because they don’t want distractions. If you’re in that group, give it up! Fantasy football is incredibly enjoyable, a great way to have fun with friends and put an added personal stake in games, even if you don’t care about the teams involved. From Yahoo!, to ESPN, to smaller, more independent leagues, there are plenty of places to organize online.

2. Buy A Jersey

Football fanatics will understand – it might just be a piece of clothing, but there’s something about a brand new jersey that just gets you ready for the games like nothing else. Whether you wear it at home on Sundays or you’re lucky enough to have tickets to games and rock your jersey at the stadium, it’s always a great purchase. Check out Football Fanatics for a great selection of well-priced jerseys.

3. Put Money On Games

Most guys who are sports fans like to gamble, or at least like the idea of gambling, on favorite teams and key match ups. This isn’t to say you should go out and blow your life savings on Week 1. But nothing’s to stop you from checking out the BetFair Exchange and placing a reasonable bet now and then on a game you care about. You’ll be shocked how much it enhances the experience.

4. Travel To A Game

This is a more expensive option (unless you’re gambling horribly), but well worth it in most cases. Try traveling to a game out of town, preferably at a stadium you’ve never been to before. There’s nothing like checking out the NFL scene in different cities, and it definitely makes your fanhood a bit more dynamic. Just grab some friends, book a trip, and enjoy a new stadium environment.

5. Invest In RedZone

NFL Sunday Ticket is great, but anyone who’s ever enjoyed RedZone will swear by it. There’s definitely something erratic about watching scoring plays all over the league, but it’s an ingenious way to make sure you catch all the highlights and major events on game day. Give RedZone a shot this season, and Sundays will never be the same.
