“We were born and grew up in the land of chocolate, Switzerland. Christmas represents a lot for me – in fact, it’s my favorite period – but it’s also a very busy time for us and we don’t get to see each other as much as we would like. A year before he proposed, we were looking forward to spending a relaxing weekend in a beautiful spa hotel which is located in a gorgeous setting near Gruyères, surrounded by snowy mountains, but finally we couldn’t make it. So … three days before Christmas, Dany woke me up and gave me 30 minutes to prepare myself to leave for the hotel. He had organized everything, from the most amazing suite with champagne, jacuzzi, dinner, and a visit to a chocolate factory (with chocolate tasting, of course!). A very special moment that changed my life.”, the bride shared with us.

“We chose Athens for a simple reason; I grew up and spent all my life in Switzerland and it will always be my home. But for our very special day, we wanted to honor my father’s Athenian origins and share the beauty of Greece and the warmth of its people with my Swiss friends, family and colleagues. We preferred the Athenian coast, rather than the islands, as Athens is more convenient for flights and transport, especially for some friends who had very little time to attend the wedding (no ferries or internal flights to worry about). Consequently, almost everyone invited came! Also, the weather is always amazing!”

“The color palette was white, light pink, green, silver combined with transparent or silver decorative objects of high quality. Crystal items, silver plated vases, big pieces that were ideally used together with tiny miniature ones, were selected to give emphasis in the details. We preferred not to over decorate the venue which was gorgeous and impressive enough. We focused on decorating the important venue spots like the dessert table on the veranda by the pool, a spot that much attracted our guests during the cocktail. The table settings were equally impressive as was the area where the ceremony took place. The wedding theme was ‘Travel’’ since we travel a lot and we have so powerful memories from our trips abroad. The concept was adapted and applied across all decorative elements of our wedding like the guest favors, deco items, the wedding cake and the pastries for our dessert table, the stationery etc.”

It is essential to select the right wedding planner who has the experience and choice of contacts to advise and help you create slowly, but surely, your dream wedding. You must enjoy every second of your special day, but also the months of planning before, without having to worry about details. For us, finding the right wedding planner was the best choice we made. BOND Events, our wedding planner had a fantastic choice of suppliers who we met personally, and she and her team worked so hard for us in the months before the wedding and even right up until the last guest had left the reception! They always listened to our ideas, gave us great advice, told us what works and what doesn’t work, found solutions or good alternatives, but best of all, they were such fun to work with. She even lent us her mother’s beautiful table cloth for the ceremony table!”
