The first weekend in June officially marks the start of the major art fairs of the summer season with the Edina Art Fair. This is the second largest art fair in Minnesota and is one of the Top 100 Art Fairs in the country. Festivals and fairs continue throughout the state (click here for a Minnesota schedule), with the Twin Cities art fair trifecta occurring the first weekend in August when the Uptown Art Fair, Loring Park Art Festival, and Powderhorn Art Fair all occur on the same weekend.
This year marks the 45th anniversary of the Edina Art Fair, and after a cool and rainy spring we lucked out with a good weekend! We stopped by Friday afternoon... great time to avoid the crowds. They have a great variety of fine arts and crafts, as well some stops for kids such as face painting and a booth to create your own art work.
You can relax over a leisurely lunch at a sidewalk cafe as you people watch, or pick up typical 'fair food' as you stroll through 340 fine artist booths. Stop by at the corner of 50th and France in Edina.
