Ed Laurel and Ed Hardy

By Davidduff

I tell you this year's panto season party political conference season is going to be the most hilarious in decades!  Yesterday the 'Bruvvers' raised the curtain on theirs and people are already falling about with laughter at the sight and sound of 'Ed Laurel' and 'Ed Hardy' doing their famous double act:

Ed Laurel and Ed Hardy

     Stan Miliband   Oliver Balls

They have churned and gurned their way round sundry newsrooms delivering their 'Pythonesque' dialog.  First up was 'Oliver' Balls who proudly announced that with all the stern financial rectitude for which he is famous the length and breadth of his downstairs toilet, he will, during the course of the next parliament, save the nation - wait for it - £400 million!  If I remind you, dear reader, that our national debt as of this Summer stood at £1,304.6 billion, equivalent to 77.3% of gross domestic product please do not sue me if your sides split!

Then along comes 'Stan' Miliband who refuses, not once but thirteen times, to endorse the notion that only English MPs should vote on English legislation.  Up and down the country potential Labour candidates are already working on the problem of exactly how to serve that particular shit sandwich to the English voters on their doorsteps next May.

'This one should run and run  . . .'
