Many properties in rural areas will now be eligible for free insulation, thanks to new funding sources.
Over the recent few months we have only been able to provide free insulation to qualifying CSCO households — usually people who receive certain benefits and/or live in a selected area. Those who were not on the right benefits or who lived in more affluent areas were often left out.
Free insulation for rural areas
The good news is that as of right now, we have access to government-backed CSCO rural funding that allows us to treat houses in rural areas.
It doesn’t matter how much your household earns or whether you receive any benefits. If you live in a less-populated area such as a village, the outskirts of a town, a hamlet or an isolated dwelling, then there’s a good chance you can get your cavity walls and loft insulated for free.
Where does the funding come from?
CSCO rural is an initiative that runs under the Energy Company Obligation, also known as ECO funding. The money comes from the ‘big 6′ energy providers, as part of the governments efforts to reduce the country’s overall carbon footprint. There will be no cost to you whatsoever — our energy surveyors will check your eligibility, arrange to carry out the work and claim the cost back from the energy companies.
According to data from the Energy Saving Trust a typical house with no insulation could save £310 per year in energy bills, simply by getting properly insulated.
Who qualifies?
Certain rural areas have been selected by the government. Go Greena will be able to survey & insulate properties in the North-West — places like Greater Manchester, Cheshire, Lancashire, Merseyside, the Wirral and South & West Yorkshire.
