Early Spring Seed SowingThe days are getting warmer...spring is just around the corner...but the mornings continue to be frosty! Lots of early spring propagation happening indoors and in the greenhouse.
Seeds Sown: (during Fruit Planting Phase) Note: these were all started inside on a heated propagation tray. Most sown into coir jiffy pellets which are then potted up with no disturbance to tiny seedlings
Capsicum Capsicum annuum
Chinese Giant from Diggers
Sweet Paprika from Home Saved Seeds
Okra Red Abelmoschus esculentus from Green Harvest
Sweet Mace Tagetes lucida from Diggers
Tomato Solanum lycopersicum (listed as Lycopersicon lycopersicum on Digger's seed packet and  L. esculentum  on the others)
Amish Paste from Diggers & Mr  Fothergill's
Christmas Grapes from Diggers
Red and Black "Indigo Apple" from Diggers
Tiny Tim from Johnson's seeds
Tiny Tommy Berry Mix from Diggers
Tommy Toe from Mr Fothergill's
Potting on:
Lettuce Everlasting
Lettuce Freckles
Silverbeet Bright Lights
Tomato (a few early sprouters) Tiny Tommy Berry mix, Amish Paste, Christmas Grapes, Tommy Toe
Cuttings Taken:
Black Mulberry Morus nigra
Comfrey - root cuttings plus divided
Red Veined Sorrel - divided
Southernwood Artemisia abrotanum
Taupata or NZ Mirror Bush Coprosma repens
Planting Out:
Brown Onions (home grown seedlings)
Cedronella (transplants)
Lavender (cuttings)
Potato tubers Solanum tuberosum Kipfler and Spunta (started in pots)
Parsley Moss Curled (home grown seedlings)
Rosemary dark blue (cuttings)
The next lot of propagation will be Seeds of Green crops which can be sown from the 28th August up to the 1st of September. When I shall be starting some early Basil and Amaranth seeds on the heated propagation tray and other salad greens in the greenhouse.
