Early Designer of Laptop Dies At 69 Years Old

Bill Moggridge is the initial designer of portable computer with a screen that can be closed, now better known as a laptop. At age 69 he died after suffering from cancer, it is known from the Smithsonian's Cooper-Hewitt, museums national design, which Moggridge worked from the year 2010.
Computer with clamshell design called the Grid Compass was designed in 1979, which is now known as the first laptop design. Grid Compass was released in 1982 and when it was priced at $ 8.150. The first laptop design using magnesium alloy casing, Intel 8086 processor, screen resolution of 320 × 240 pixel electroluminescent display.
The high price is because the OS is special and limited only marketed to the U.S. military alone. This laptop also fly into space on the Space Shuttle Discovery in 1985. Moggridge ever received a Lifetime Achievement Award in 2009 and the Prince Philip Designers Prize in 2010.
