Posted on the 02 August 2014 by Sirmac2 @macthemovieguy

1) Guardians Of The Galaxy- 92-95M Weekend

Chris Pratt has saved the day. Guardians Of The Galaxy is guaranteed one of the biggest openings of the year. Guardians is also beloved by audiences, with an A cinemascore, a 9.0 on IMDB, and 92% on Rotten Tomatoes. After failing box office, Guardians mops up, and doesn’t just break the record for Top August Opening, it destroyed it. Review coming soon.

2) Lucy- 17-18M Weekend

After leaving audiences divided last weekend, Lucy is on track to drop 60% in Week 2.

3) Get On Up- 14-15M Weekend

Get On Up landed an A cinemascore, and 77% from Rotten Tomatoes. Chadwick Boseman is getting the kind of reviews he’ll need to be considered for an Oscar nomination.

4) Hercules- 10-11M Weekend

Hercules is looking to drop 60% in Week 2, even though it had a better cinemascore than Lucy. Increased competition from Guardians likely contributed.

5) Dawn Of The Planet Of The Apes- 8.5M Weekend

6) Planes 2- 6M Weekend

7) The Purge: Anarchy- 5.5M Weekend

8) Sex Tape- 3.5M Weekend
