Download of the Week (6/19/15): weareTheBigBang “Smoke”

My Download of the week is “Smoke ” by weareTheBigBang, they are an upcoming Alternative Soul band based out of Los Angeles, CA. Composed of : Luis Munoz, Oliver Lee, Kyle,  Enrique Hinojosa, Cheyenne Jolene and Tambo Elaine Faye.  weareTheBigBang have entered the music world with a unique and alternative take on the southern California Indie Soul. These musical talented individuals met during their years at the Musicians Institute in Hollywood, California began playing shortly after graduation.

The band has had the opportunity to perform at colleges throughout the States. They have recently toured London and recently released their EP Single “Smoke“.  Although they haven’t had a long journey the band is heading in the right direction.  “Smoke” has the sort of soulful and cool tone which reminds me of the 80s and 90s. Listening to their song was like a trip down memory lane, to the days of Pat Benatar, Oasis, the Neil Giraldo and many more.  With this unique melody and their drive their high ambitions we know this band will make their way to the top.

This song, their rhythm and melody definitely has a fluid and velvety resonance which sends a listener back in time. Certainly to a time of Chill Out Indie, Soul, and Alternative that one would say “moves the soul” I believe this band will bring that back someday in the future.
