This weeks download of the week is Aurah‘s “Three Little Birds (Bob Marley Cover)“. With everyone knowing the song “Three Little Birds” by Bob Marley it had to be hard to make the song their own. But this duo made it sound easy and different from the original. Don’t worry it still has the nice mellow sound to it with Judith Martin singing the lead vocals in it. When the songs start to get closer to the end it picks up the pace but then at the very end they slow it back down. This is a nice tribute they did to Bob Marley and I’m sure he would be proud to have them do this.
Aurah is a duo with Marc Dold and Judith Martin who met as teenagers who met in basements in rehearsal rooms of in the local music scene in Switzerland. Judith went on to study Jazz while Marc got a degree for classical guitar from the Swiss conservatory. They both soon left to do more studies in the music field at Berklee College of Music. This is where the two joined forces and created Aurah.
I expect a lot of great things from this group. Any group that can re-do a song that everyone knows so well and make it their own but still show respect to the original is a truly talented artist.
