Dwell celebrates the creativity of architects, designers, and their clients—but nobody is beholden to design professionals to realize every project. That idea is the heart of the recent 'maker' movement: give the tools, inspiration, and information necessary to help DIY designers fashion their own creations across mutliple mediums. Brit + Co, an online reposity of all things 'maker,' is set to open their third annual Re:Make conference this coming September 11th and 12th. Re:Make's first day is an invitation-only summit featuring speakers from all walks of the design world: from HGTV to ice cream to shoes and materials sciences. The second day is a festival open to all, complete with DJs, dancing, food trucks, and—of course—the opportunity to buy goods from 100+ makers. Both the summit and festival will be at the Festival Pavilion, 2 Marina Blvd, San Francisco.
