Before I ever set foot inside Bagatelle, I had only previously known the Meatpacking eatery for it's lively brunch scene and reputation as a celebrity hotspot that has notably hosted everyone from Helen Mirren to Mariah Carey. The airy white walled space is punctuated by decorative moldings, crystal chandeliers and colorful pop art. A long marble and white paneled fully stocked bar runs along the back wall of the restaurant. Bagatelle's menu consists of a variety of French bistro favorites like Croque Monsieur/Madame, Chicken Paillard, Burgers as well as sharable plates like Ahi Tuna Tartare, Avocado Toast, Crab Salad and Black Truffle Pizza. I was invited to an influencer luncheon last month to try some of their popular menu items. Scene aside, overall the food was flavorful and well executed. I especially liked the tuna tartare, crab salad, goat cheese tartine with balsamic and pizza. Since this was a hosted event, that probably affected the service but I will say that we were well taken care of throughout our meal.
