Dear 2013, You Might be New, but Let’s Make the Best of It (another one of those annoying resolution posts)Alright fabulous readers, here we go.  My list of all those things I’m going to try and attempt to do better in 2013.  Now, as much as I like putting all my resolutions down on paper (it’s a bit like Spring cleaning for your brain) we all know it’s going to be difficult to actually form ourselves into that perfect person we imagine being this time next year.  So I’m giving myself an out.  Instead of saying I’m going to actually succeed at all of these goals, I’m saying that I’m going to make a sincere effort to get closer to my goals this year than I did last year.

So without further ado…here’s my list of goals to attempt for 2013:

1. I’m going to finish my WIP Star Trek cross-stitch which I’ve been putting off to work on Christmas stitchy things.

2. Finish all my Christmas/Graduation gift thank-you notes (which will hopefully be done the first week of the new year, but hey, we’re all entitled to one easily achievable goal)

3. Start (and maybe even finish) one HAED pattern I have waiting for me in my stash.

4. Double the number of books I’ve read from 62 this year to 124 in 2013

5. Be a little more ambitious in my exercise routine.  I walked at least 1 mile every day until it started to get cold…so I want to push through that and keep up the cardio.

6. Up my yoga practice to at least 4 times a week.

And now the tough ones….

7. I want to find a real, contract, teaching job by this time next year (hopefully at a school I can see myself staying at long term)

8. Be in a position to move into my own place by 2014 (which is all pretty dependent on finding a full-time permanent job

9. Make time to grow in my faith.  2012 has been a major transition year for me and with a lot of the other things I’ve had to deal with talking to other people wasn’t enough, so I started to pray.  My faith has done some great things for me this year, and gotten me through some difficult times and I want to keep it strong.  So my goal is to say an evening liturgy of the hours at least three times a week (start small…)

10.  Let go a little bit.  I like making lists and having things planned out, knowing exactly where I’m going.  So in 2013 I want to be able to accept the things that happen even if they aren’t what I “planned” for and enjoy life even if things aren’t perfect.

I think 10 is a good number of resolutions to stick with, so this is where I’ll stop.  Any resolutions you’d like to share?  Wishing you all the best in 2013 and I hope to hear more from all of my followers in the next year!  And don’t forget, I’m officially open for book reviews starting now, so if any of you author followers out there have a book they’d like to see put on my review list check out my contact page and send it along.
