Posted on the 11 December 2013 by Geekasms @geekasms

Today, DC announced through an Associated Press story, a new weekly title called The New 52: Futures End.  This is the second weekly title that DC has announced for 2014 along with Batman: Eternal.

With The New 52: Futures End, DC is taking their universe 5 years into the future with writers, such as, Jeff Lemire, Brian Azzarello, Keith Giffen and Dan Jurgens and will be launching the new weekly series with a free #0 issue on Free Comic Book Day.  The all-star cast of artists include Ethan Van Sciver, Jesus Merino, Aaron Lopresti and Dan Jurgens.  Obviously, DC likes the success of their weekly digital titles and are goinng to try and duplicate that with print.

Based on the image released, it looks like Batman from Batman Beyond will be playing a major role in this new series, which is the first time the character shows up in current continuity.

What do you think of DC’s new weekly comics coming next year?
