Day & Night with RosehipPLUS

By Twoplicates
Day & Night with RosehipPLUSRosehip oil is well known for its numerous skin benefits and multipurpose use, hence accounting for the influx of countless versions of this oil being pushed out into the market. This has resulted in the the current ownership of 4 Rosehip oils from different brands, ready to use once my current one runs out (gotta try them all)!

RosehipPLUS is a brand that’s an Australian owned family business, taking pride in sourcing and producing the finest products containing Rosehip oil that’s organic and cold pressed (the best oils are cold pressed).  A huge plus with this range of products is that they DON'T contain any of the following: parabens, sulphates, artificial colours, synthetic fragrance, petrochemicals, preservatives.
We were first introduced to this brand last year with their Rosehip Oil in the nifty roll-on packaging (review here), and this time we were given the opportunity to test out their RosehipPLUS Hydrating Day Cream and Nourishing Night Cream.  Both of these products were developed to help support healthy looking skin, maintain hydration, softness, and promote skin elasticity and texture, just to name a few!

RosehipPLUS Hydrating Day Cream
Key Ingredients: Rosehip Oil, Chamomile, Avocado Oil, Rose Geranium.  Rich in naturally occurring Vitamins A, C, E, plus Omega 3, 6 & 9.
I’ve been mixing Rosehip oil into my facial moisturiser and applying it to my face and neck area on the daily (for about 6 months or so), and over time I’ve figured out what I like and don’t like in my little concoction in the mornings.  In a daytime moisturiser, I look for something that hydrates my dry areas, yet has the ability to sink in quickly enough for me to apply makeup on top in those super rushed mornings before uni/work.   This moisturiser is super lightweight in texture allowing it to counteract the general 'heaviness' of oils, so it can sink into your skin within a decent amount of time.  In terms of moisturisation, I find that when mixed with an oil, this can work well during both the warm and cooler months, given that you switch up oils or skip them altogether.  Using this on a day to day basis, it maintains the moisture on my skin throughout the day, however when using this on its own, sometimes the dry areas aren’t “fully hydrated” for me, leading to makeup clinging to these areas afterwards.
The recommended usage for this moisturiser is to pair it up with “two drops of RosehipPLUS Rosehip Oil”, however I know not everyone likes the feel of oils or perhaps not have one to mix it with, so probably keep that in mind- especially those with the drier skin types.

RosehipPLUS Nourishing Night Cream
Key Ingredients: Rosehip Oil, Cocoa Seed Butter, Jojoba Seed Oil, Shea Butter and rich in naturally occurring Vitamins A, C, E, plus Omega 3, 6 & 9.
In a night moisturiser, I prefer to use ones that are a little heavier just because I have all that sleep time for it to properly sink in, and it’s also the time for the skin to properly regenerate.    The Nourishing Night Cream wasn’t too particularly nourishing for me; it just seemed to sink in as fast as the Hydrating Day Cream.  In the swatches below, the night cream is slightly darker in colour, so I’m assuming that it has the same base ingredients as its day time counterpart, just more concentrated.   Don’t get me wrong though, the moisturiser does a good job of hydrating, just not enough for my liking (#drycomboskin).  In saying that, I will continue to use this because of beneficial ingredients packed into this, and I just add in more oil accordingly to make it work.
On a side note, I really like how the night cream has the pump, allowing you to control how much to dispense, and preventing sudden goops of product to come out (can happen with the Hydrating Day Cream tube packaging).

Both of these moisturisers are quite similar in terms of texture, formulation and scent, and with the impressive list of natural ingredients, these are definitely suitable for all skin types.  With its ability to sink in easily, I would go ahead and recommend those with oily/combo skin types to definitely check this one out.  Having tested this out for a bit more than a month, I’ve noticed my T-zone changing from oily to normal and balanced out the texture and softness of my skin.  Overall both of these are wonderful moisturisers, packed with amazing ingredients that’s bound to leave your skin feeling soft and supple.  The RosehipPLUS range are Australian Certified Organic, cruelty free, and available for purchase at Chemist Warehouse, with the Hydrating Day Cream RRP at $19.95 (75ml), and the Nourishing Night Cream at RRP $29.95 (50ml).
