Creamy Mango Popsicles

A new post and again I am sharing another summer special recipe...Mango Cream Popsicle!
Mango season is here and we all love mangoes. I make a variety of my favorite recipes in this season. My whole family is fond of Mangoes. In Goa we get a variety of Mangoes and they last till August or September.
We used to buy them and have them till all Mangoes have vanished from Markets. My mom is specially crazy for Mangoes. She can have any kind of Mangoes, whereas Me and my husband are a bit choosy that way. We prefer only a certain variety of Mangoes and we can eat for certain time.
When season starts in March till May we get Goa's famous "Mankurad" mango. After May it vanishes from Markets and we cannot find it till next year.
Another variety is Alphonso, which is again as good as Mankurad in taste and sweetness. Its mostly available in Maharashtra,Belgaum,Raigad areas. In Goa we get them but not in more quantities.
Another famous category of Goan Mango is Musraad Mango. Its very tasty variety and very famous to make Jam / Halwa and preserves. This variety is not available readily in markets to eat. I think very few local vendors will get them specially from their local grown Mango trees and a small quantity to sell. They are equally costly and tasty.

Homemade Mango Jam / Halwa. Check that recipe of Mango Jam. In Goa, Mango varieties are in abundance,even there is a yearly Mango festival which is held in Goa. Plus lot of Mango competitions are held.
So I have this craze for Mango Icecream or Mango Popsicle since childhood. I have shared earlier my Mango Icecream recipe. Check that too.
My dad used to bring a box full of these Mango Posicles for me.Local name was "Mango Dolly", I still love them. Its actually Mango with Vanilla Popsicle.
Every year I used to make plans that when Mango season will start I will make Mango popsicle but somehow I used to keep forgetting it. Finally,this year I had stuck a Post-it on my fridge front door in bold letter saying "Make Mango Popsicle".
I had to do this to remind myself not to forget it this year too.
Once or twice it fell off and I had to make them over and over to stick them back so that I should not miss out on this again.

Creamy Mango Popsicles

Finally this year I made these and they brought back my childhood memories.
These popsicles are totally not like the ones we get in India,which are usually Mango covering the Vanilla ice-cream. I made them with Greek yogurt instead of all cream so there is a nice tangy taste to them instead of all sweet.

Creamy Mango Popsicles
  • 1 & 1/2 Cup, Mango Pulp
  • 1 Cup,Powdered White Sugar
  • 1/2 Cup,Greek Yogurt / Hung Curd
  • 1/2 Cup,Heavy Whipping Cream / Regular Milk Cream
  • 8 No,Popsicle Molds (Best Popsicle Mold

  • 8 No,Popsicle Sticks

Creamy Mango Popsicles

  • You can make any pattern of your choice to make this popsicle.
  • If you do not have cream then replace cream with mango pulp.
  • Freeze the popsicles for at least 6 hours to get firm or else they will break when removing from molds.
  • Hold the popsicle mold under running tap water or dip then in a bowl of water till they loosen.
