Crate Paper Design Team : Floral Theme

By Jcchris
I'm so thrilled that this week is all about floral. And yes, I'm a huge fan of floral patterned papers & embellishments! There are so many floral pieces to choose in Crate Paper line of products. Today, I've chosen Maggie Holmes Bloom collection to create.
To begin, I chose two floral patterned papers. Next, I started with fussy-cutting a few of the big yellow roses. I also decided to fussy cut a couple of roses from the 6"x6" paper pad, in mind to layer  them onto the bigger roses. Besides cutting the roses from the papers, I also chose to use a couple of die-cut roses & leaves to enhance the design.

Once the cutting is done, I dabbed some gesso by using wet tissue onto the black & white floral patterned paper. The idea is to create a subtle look, so the background wouldn't look too busy against the yellow roses.Crate Paper Design Team : Floral Theme
When the gesso is all dried, I started with layering the big yellow roses along with the smaller roses. Once I'm satisfied with the floral arrangements, I worked with the white doilies all around the layout. The white doilies will create a soft & delicate look to the layout. These floral elements sure give a modern-vintage look to my layout. Absolutely love how this turned out to be!

By layering smaller roses onto the bigger roses will create a fuller look. Crate Paper Design Team : Floral Theme
To create dimensions to the florals, adhered foam dots at the bottom. Crate Paper Design Team : Floral Theme
Lastly, I incorporated stickers & a couple of die-cuts to complete the layout. Crate Paper Design Team : Floral Theme
