Could #XFiles2015 Become a Thing?

I miss The X-Files, don’t you?

If you’ve happened to listen to the latest episode of the Nerdist podcast which features Gillian Anderson, it seems that sentiment is more widespread than some might think, and if you ask me, it sounds like Gillian herself might miss it some.

For those younger or not in the know, The X-Files was THE show to watch back in its heyday on Fox.  Giving us the adventures of Mulder and Scully, in a dark, unique geeky/sci-fi, funky show that was unique for the time.  It had the mysterious Smoking Man, it gave us the Lone Gunman, it gave us comics, and 2 movies (except that last one was shit).  But I digress….

During Anderson’s interview with Nerdist Chris Hardwick and Bondian Matt Mira, she started asking what they thought if the show came back after all this time.  At the time, the way she was talking it sounded like it was something that was already in place.  I was actually expecting her to drop the bombshell that we were getting the X-Files again, yet it never happened.  She did however say that fans should start the #XFiles2015 movement, in an attempt to convince Fox to reunite her with David Duchovny in a return to the series.

She clearly has interest.  I’m guessing that while Duchovny has projects coming up, he’d be up for it as well.  Mulder just seems like a role he can slip into easily.  Hell, talking about Duchovny having projects, Anderson can been seen in not only the Netflix series The Fall, but also in CBS’s Hannibal, and the woman is reaching for a resurgence for X-Files!

It’s a crazy reach of a thing, but crazier things have happened (Twin Peaks anyone?)  So come on people!  Lets get this thing going.  Lets get on the Twitter machine and get the hashtag #XFiles2015 going
